"I had a lot of fun and I learned some new Chinese words too!" exclaimed Julian Ming Leichty after last weeks first language exchange with NTU students. "I think it provided a great opportunity for ICLP students of all skill levels to get to know some Taiwanese students, and for students on both sides of the exchange to improve their speaking skills.
This past week was more of an icebreaker, with NTU and ICLP students getting to know each other over delicious waffles through thought provoking questions such as, "Have you ever farted in public but denied that you did it?" and "Have you ever cheated on an examination?". Other planned events are "language exchange speed dating", and a word guess party game called "Taboo".
Food and beverages are provided at every event. The language exchange goes from 3:30 to 5pm every week alternating Wednesdays and Thursdays (i.e. The week of November 1st, the language exchange will occur on Wednesday; the week of November 8th, it will be on a Thursday) at the ICLP conference room on the fourth floor.
All ICLP students are welcome to join in on the fun!
