A Salute to Standard of the 2010 Summer Program

　　當坐上447演講室發表席完成了發表，獲得了滿堂喝采的當下，你已經為自己的生命歷程立下了嶄新的標竿，同時，也為在場的老師和同學立下了全新的標竿。無論你在發表前或發表的同時，心裡上是何等的掙扎與緊張，但是你畢竟做到了。有了如此深刻的體驗之後，未來以中文在眾人面前發表論文是輕而易舉的了。

　　You might not know it, but upon completing your final presentation and receiving a roomful of applause in the ICLP lecture hall, you have in some small way you have set a new standard for yourself as well as for the teachers and other students in attendance.  However uneasy and nervous you were before and during the presentation, you've done it!  After such a significant experience, I believe you are now able to give a public presentation in Chinese with great ease in the future.

　　2009-10級暑期班的期末口頭成果發表場場令人感動與讚嘆，各個令人印象深刻。

　　這足以顯示，以下兩個事件不但沒使學習成就大打折扣，而且還越挫越勇。

1)      四年一度的世界盃足球大賽。
2)      臺大北區校園意外大斷電，迫使我們停課一天，又在汗如雨下的情況下上課半天。

 

　　The final presentations of 2010 summer program were extremely touching and impressive.  This has attested to the fact that the following two events did not pose any great obstacle to our achievements:

(1)   The once-every-four-year FIFA World Cup

(2)   Unexpected blackouts on the NTU campus this week

　　在此向2009-10級暑期班即將畢業的英雄們致上無上的敬意，同時致上由衷的感謝，因為你們為明年度的學生立下了嶄新的標竿。在此也向全體老師與行政團隊致上發自肺腑的感謝，感謝各位的全力以赴，眾志才得以成城。

　　On behalf of ICLP I want to express my respect and gratitude to all of our students who together set a high standard for the incoming students of the next academic year program to follow!  I'd also like to show my special thanks to the faculty and the administrative team who made all of thispossible.
