It is ICLPs great honour to have such esteemed alumni, each of whom are highly respected in their respective fields.
Actually, if we look carefully, we find that the role relationships and friendships play at ICLP is not small.
Some of these relationships and friendships are formed between teachers and students, others between families. For example, father and son, brother and sister and so on. Even to the point that those who were once mere classmates are now husband and wife.

This picture shows Mr and Mrs. Chen. They met at ICLP and are now happily married and living a successful life.
The following pictures detail brothers, sisters, fathers and sons. Can you guess the relationship between each pair in the pictures? Can you spot any of your teachers?

This is Leigh Jenco from the London School of Economics and Politics. In 2004 she was studying a PhD and is shown here with her classical chinese with teacher, instructor Xu.

This is Professor Daniel Lynch pictured here during his second stint at ICLP in 1998.

In the middle of this picture is Professor Joseph R Allen. He studied at IUP during 1977-78. The evolution of Taipei city is amongst his topics of research.
Professor Halvor Eifring from the Oslo University studied at IUP from 1984-86. After 30 years, he returns to ICLP with current ICLP and Oslo University student Magnus Lomax Bjerke.
During students time in Taiwan, ICLP is naturally at the centre of their lives. Does that mean that once students leave ICLP they no longer maintain their relationship with ICLP? Of course not! ICLP is like one big family with relationships and friendships at the centre of it all. Indeed it is these very relationships and friendships that make studying chinese such a joyful experience.
