NTU-ICLP論文小組11/20在鄧守信教授的指導引領下﹐發表詞類研究成果﹐受到與會者肯定﹐出席者上百人。今年ICL小組論文主題是「現代漢語詞類與教學」(Pedagogical Function of Modern Chinese Parts of Speech)。

        A group from NTU-ICLP under the guidance of professor Teng Shou-Hsin presented the results of their research concerning the classification of Chinese parts of speech to an audience of over one hundred.  The topic was the “Pedagogical Function of Modern Chinese Parts of Speech.” 我們通過學理與事實﹐指出傳統漢語詞類在對外教學上造成無數的弊端﹐與會者反應熱絡﹐紛紛希望本所將研究與教學成果﹐能夠與大家分享。11/24在 UC Berkeley大學的發表亦如是。

        Based on pedagogy and fact, we pointed out the flaws of using traditional systems of word classification when teaching Chinese as a Second Language (CSL) students and were met with the enthusiastic engagement of the audience.  The audience expressed their hope that we would share the results of ICLP’s efforts with everyone.  This was our goal during the presentation on Nov. 24 at UC Berkeley.

        衷心感謝校友USBD的韓依薇教授與UC Berkeley黎宜浩教授居中聯繫與安排﹐使我們今年在出席大會活動之外﹐有機會順道參訪USBD與UC Berkeley。觀摩UC Berkeley Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures課堂教學﹐使我們更加理解ICLP學生在美國初段學習的環境與條件﹐這樣能讓我們在規劃課程的時候有具體的參照點。

        We extend our gratitude to our alumna Professor Larrisa Heinrich of USBD and Professor Li Yi-Hao of UC Berkeley for their logistical assistance which allowed us to visit USBD and UC Berkeley on our way.  Our visit to the UC Berkeley Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures’ Chinese classes gave us a better idea of the kind of introductory Chinese instruction American students receive before coming to ICLP, thus giving us a clearer point of reference for future curriculum planning.
