光陰似箭，轉眼間，ICLP 電子報已經出版一百期了。真是可喜可賀！本人在海外教授華語也有二十餘年，ICLP 一直是我們心中最理想的海外華語教學項目。特別是近五年來，電子報辦得生動活潑，更是成為ICLP與海外學生本校老師、家長及同學間溝通交流的橋樑，同時又為貴項目學生運用華語表達對較為複雜的社會問題提出分析看法時，提供了一個非常有效的平台。記得我們過去共同的學生鄧安竹曾興奮地給我寄來一份你們的電子報，其中有他寫的一篇報導，當時就讓我們老師們也好好興奮了一陣。對老師來說，還有什麼能比看到學生成績進步時更高興的事呢。望再接再厲，把電子報辦得好上加好！

======================================================================================        I have had the good fortune to speak to ICLP students about Taiwan’s political scene under three presidents – Lee Teng-hui, Chen Shui-bian, and Ma Ying-jeou. I visit ICLP almost every time I come to Taiwan, and it’s a part of the trip I look forward to most of all. The students are engaging and eager (and I think the fact that my talks are in English is only part of the reason). Year after year the room gets fuller and the audience more diverse (although the baozi never change). My ICLP talks have introduced me to some wonderful colleagues, and the E-Newsletter provides yet another way to keep in touch. I tell my students, ICLP is the best Chinese language program there is; if your goal is to learn Chinese, there’s no better choice. One of these days I hope I will have a chance to take my own advice!   

        我有機會去ICLP演講好幾次，題目總是台灣政治情況。我在三個總統的任期演講過—李登輝、陳水扁與馬英九，算算已經過了一段很長的時間了！我差不多每次去台灣都到ICLP去訪問，這是我在台灣最愉快的活動。學生又投入又熱情 （希望不只是因為我用英文演講），而且一年比一年多，一年比一年多元 （不過午餐提供的包子都差不多）。我在ICLP認識到一些很好的同事和朋友，而且電子報又是一個保持聯絡的好工具。我總是告訴我的學生ICLP是世界最好的中文學校。如果你的目的是學好漢語，沒有更好的選擇。我希望將來有機會採納自己的建議！
